"Cobalt Net" is the hallmark of the Imperial Porcelain Factory and a symbol of Russian porcelain. The painting, created in the mid-20th century by artist Anna Yatskevich for the tea set in the "Tulip" shape (based on the model by Serafima Yakovleva), is known worldwide. Initially, Yatskevich's net was golden (1945) — sets with this decor were produced immediately after the war, and later the artist created the famous "Cobalt Net" – a set that won a gold medal at the World Exhibition in Brussels in 1958. Since then, the "Cobalt Net", as it is now called, has conquered the world. The set was not specifically prepared for the competition but was part of the factory's product range. It is believed that the "Cobalt Net" was inspired by the elegant and festive porcelain of the 18th century — the Elizabethan "Own" service, in the knots of which small pink flowers are depicted. Yatskevich's net is more intricate, made with underglaze cobalt and adorned with gold. The "Cobalt Net" beautifully complemented the shape of the "Tulip" service, giving it a festive and noble appearance.
